Background

Lamar Legend is a non-binary/trans native New Yorker and began their theatrical training at The High School for the Performing Arts (The "Fame" School/LAG Arts) as an actor. They honed their dancing ability at The Alvin Ailey Dance School. But it wasn't until they moved to Chicago and attended the conservatory at DePaul University (formerly The Goodman School of Acting) that they married their love of Shakespeare and physical theatre under the title of Director.

Experience

Lamar has starred in over fifty theatrical works in four US cities, as well as abroad in Tuscany, Rome, Milan, Prague, and Mexico. They’ve performed at Lincoln Center, Teatro Patologico and Teatro Franco Parenti in Milan.

As a playwright, they've written and adapted for companies in four US cities, as well as abroad in Italy, Prague, and Mexico. Lamar's screenplays and pilots have won up to four finalist awards, and their script "Sojourning" has ranked in the Top Ten on Coverfly's Red List for thirty weeks (and counting). Recently, they were a finalist in ScreenCraft's 2021 TV Pilot Competition and they've had generals with EPs & Showrunners at Shondaland, AppleTV, Sony and Paramount.

They are currently repped by 3 Arts Entertainment.
