LAMAR is a native New Yorker, and began his theatrical training at The High School for the Performing Arts (The "Fame" School/LAG Arts) as an actor. While there, he attended The Alvin Ailey Dance School.
Following that, he moved to Chicago where he received the bulk of his professional stage credits, and studied Drama at The Theatre School at DePaul University (aka The Goodman School of Acting).
In Seattle, he became a Teaching Artist and married his love of Shakespeare and physical theatre to found his production company, The Heroes; writing and directing original works for them for over five years.
Since then, Lamar has written three screenplays; adapted several classical plays; won competitions for his slam poetry; and has produced, directed, and starred in over fifty theatrical works in many major US cities, as well as abroad in Rome, Milan, Prague, and Mexico.
He's performed at The MET, The Steppenwolf Theater, The Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Teatro Franco Parenti, and was honored with The Rising Star Award by The League of American Theaters & Producers.
